“ Absolutely delicious ramen! Unlike other restaurants this place actually fills it up with big pieces of meat, noodles, egg, and corn. Other places you have to pay to add on those items. The broth to noodle ratio was perfect! Service was also very quick and awesome. If you like thicker more creamy ramen, this place is for you! I will definitely be returning. ”
“ I’m always on the lookout for great ramen spots—we love Japanese food, and ramen is a favorite. I’m so glad I found this place! This place is hands down the closest I’ve found in Canada to the authentic flavors of Japan. We’ve been twice so far, and both visits were fantastic. The menu features authentic Japanese dishes, just like what we enjoyed in Japan, with comforting and satisfying flavors. So far, we’ve tried katsudon (crispy chicken cutlet over rice with a light savory sauce), chicken shio ramen (clear and delicate but full of depth), chicken nanban (juicy and tender with a nice crispiness), spicy tonkotsu ramen (rich and creamy with a pleasant heat), and shoyu ramen (mild, smooth, and umami-forward). We’d love a bit more saltiness in the ramen, but that might just be our taste. Everything tastes fresh, well-prepared, and made with care. Each broth has its own unique character, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. We’re already planning to try more from the menu. I also appreciate small touches like the engraved chopstick holders with the restaurant’s name—subtle but charming. The owner is super friendly, and the vibe is calm, cozy, and welcoming. It’s a spot where you instantly feel comfortable. One heads-up for first-timers: the place says Monty’s at the top, but the actual restaurant name is in neon on the window. I almost thought I had the wrong address the first time—so don’t worry, you’re in the right place! ”
“ Tiny spot, great service, good food. Went there with a party of 3, and were quickly sat. We got the black garlic ramen, gyudon, and takoyaki. When my bowl came to the table, the aroma was so good and comforting I took a minute and just savoured the smell. Noodle texture was very good. I got the spicy paste on the side and I highly recommend. Bonus my server let me bring my coffee from next door and enjoy it while I waited for my food. Thank you! We will be back. ”
“ Wow .... Best Ramen in Edmonton!! Chef Raphael was helpful with our selections. Ordered the Spicy Miso, Tonkotsu Red, Shoyu Ramen and the Daily Special - Doria ( pork n rice ) Will be back to try the other tasty dishes. ”
“ Shiawase Ramen is one of the best ramen restaurants I’ve been to. The ramen broth is incredibly creamy and packed with rich, comforting flavor. Their rice bowls are also delicious, definitely worth trying, and the bao bun is exceptionally tasty. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. This place has become our go-to spot for a satisfying meal. A hidden gem that deserves more attention! ”
“ I had the chicken with soy ramen. It was tasty and it was important enough to eat. The waitress whose name started with a V was prompt and friendly. There were three of us there and we all enjoyed our meals. ”
“ The food was absolutely delicious! Tried some new things that I have never heard of before - so tasty! The portion sizes are great for the prices you pay - more food than most places would give, for sure. Having an appetizer and meal proved to be too much food. I would recommend coming to check it out! Note: When looking for the restaurant, above it says 'Monty's', but it says 'Shiawase Ramen' in the window! ”
“ We’re from Calgary and we love to eat Ramen. When we searched for a good ramen place, Shiawase was the first to pop-up. With good reviews, we thought we should try. And I must say, it’s a great choice! Nice atmosphere and excellent food! I had the spicy tonkatsu Ramen and my husband had the black ramen. Both of them were delicious! So authentic taste. Bao buns are a must try as well! They’re so yummy! We also found out that the owner trained in Japan on how to make ramen and all these Japanese cuisine! ”
